Getting Started Guide

UNLOCK A BIT

When you find a BIT vehicle, you can scan the QR code or by clicking on the scooter icon on the map you can view a series of commands that can be activated on that vehicle, including checking the rental if it is a maximum distance of 50 meters.

Once one of the two procedures described above has been carried out, it can compare the message “Vehicle not available for hire”, indicating that maintenance is probably in progress or the battery of the same is too low for a possible rental.

START THE RENTAL

Once the release procedure is complete, to start the ride, you have to push with one foot on the ground while the other is held on the base of the scooter. After the scooter has picked up speed, you can press on the throttle near your right thumb to accelerate. Use the brake to slow down when you needed.

PARK AND CLOSE THE RENTAL

Make sure to end the race at a point that does not hinder traffic and in designated areas where these are present.
It is generally possible to park on the sidewalks as long as pedestrian traffic is not obstructed.
Do not park in location that are not permitted, including:

  • Ramps for disabled access
  • In order to obstruct pedestrian crossings or cycle paths
  • At the entrance of hospitals
  • At the entrance of fire brigade barracks
  • Inside parks
  • Inside private areas
  • Inside fenced areas
  • In areas where parking is prohibited (red or purple area)

To close the rental of the scooter you have to just parked and click on the “Close Rental” button inside the APP.

You can park:

  • Anywhere within the blue operating area
  • In a BIT Point area, with green “P” icon, inside the Orange limited parking area
  • In a BIT Point area, having a green “P” icon, inside the Blue operating area
THE PAUSE FUNCTION

You can avoid closing the rental to make your commissions. By pausing the rental, pressing the appropriate button on the dashboard page inside the APP, no one else will be able to use your vehicle and you will be charged a more favorable rate per minute. (0.05 €/minute)

Don’t forget to close the rental if you no longer need the vehicle. Otherwise the charges will continue. Please do not forget to end your ride when you are finished! You will continue to be charged if you do not end the ride.

ZONE IDENTIFICATION

On the map inside our APP there can be different types of areas, differentiated by color and characteristics. By clicking on one of these areas you can view the rules in force or the rate applied in that city if you click on the service coverage area:

  • BLUE Zone: Area of ​​coverage of the service in that specific city
  • RED Zone: Area where it is not possible to park
  • BLACK Zone: Area where it is not possible to pass
  • ORANGE Zone: Limited parking area. Parking is only possible inside the BIT Points
  • YELLOW Zone: Area at maximum speed limited to 6Km / h
  • PURPLE Zone: Area at maximum speed limited to 6Km / h where it is not possible to park

Prices and Payment Methods

How much does a rental cost?

The rental cost consists of a fixed part indicated as the vehicle unlocking cost and a variable part indicated as the cost of the journey expressed in minutes. Rates and promotions may be different by city or day of the week. The actual costs can be checked by clicking on the service coverage area or by clicking on the scooter icon inside the map and then on the PRICES item.

HOW TO PAY THE RENTAL?

When you sign up for BIT, you are asked to add a payment method to your account in order to use the service. The allowed payment methods are:

  • Credit card
  • Prepaid card
  • Paypal
  • Satispay

Alternatively, you can top up your wallet and use it to pay for your rentals or purchase packages. To add funds to your wallet, go to the “My Wallet page” inside the APP and select the top-up amount. Depending on the recharge cut made, you can receive a credit bonus that you can only use for the payment of the rentals. On the My Wallet page, you can activate or deactivate the automatic top-up function so as not to worry if your Wallet balance runs out.

CHECK CHARGES OF MY RENTALS

You can check all the history of your rentals in the My Rentals section on the My Profile page. For each registered rental it is possible to view the amount paid, the kilometers ridded , the date and the number of the vehicle used. If any inconsistencies are found, our 24-hour customer service can provide details.

DO I PAY IF THE VEHICLE IS STOLEN?

You would only be accountable for the vehicle if you did not lock it after your ride is completed, and the vehicle gets stolen as a result.

SIGNING UP

CREATE AN ACCOUNT

In order to use a BIT vehicle you must register.

We ask you to provide us with some personal information, including a mobile number where we send a verification code (OTP) via sms that will be required to complete the registration process.

We also send you an email to verify the correctness of the same provided during registration.

I DID NOT RECEIVE THE CODE OF VERICA (OTP)

If you do not receive the verification code (otp), you have probably made a mistake entering the mobile number during registration.

You can request a new verification code (otp) on the login page, by clicking on “I have not received the OTP code? Resend SMS”, you will be asked for the email address and mobile phone number where we will send to you a new code.

CLOSE AN ACCOUNT

If you wish to close your BIT account, send us a request via email to our help center.

SAFETY

What is the minimum age to use BIT?

To be able to use a BIT vehicle, you must be over 14 years old and be in possession of the AM or majority license.
Make sure you have read and accepted the Terms and Conditions of Use during registration.

SHOULD THE HELMET BE WEARED?

The use of a helmet is compulsory from 14 to adulthood and strongly recommended for everyone. The helmet and other protective accessories are not a guarantee against personal injury. For detailed information see our Terms and Conditions.

IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT

If you are involved in an accident while using BIT, contact our customer service to inform us of the incident.
Bit Mobility S.r.l. has insurance coverage to protect against damages to third parties.

ISSUSES

ENDIND RENTAL PROBLEMS

Can’t close the rental?
The system may not allow the closure of the rental for the following reasons:

  • Closure in an area where parking is not allowed
  • Closure in an area where parking is allowed only in the BIT Points
  • Scooter GPS signal coverage poor or absent
  • Poor or absent quality of connection to the mobile network

Once you have ascertained that you are not included in the above mentioned cases, contact our service center promptly.

I CAN'T FIND THE VEHICLE

If you cannot physically locate the vehicle on the map, you can make a sound to the scooter so that it is easily found.
Just click on the Play function, clicking on the scooter icon inside the map.
